Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII.

Commitment to
Scholarship

AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable.

Letter from the President

On behalf of our chapter, welcome to Alpha Omicron Pi at The University of South Alabama! We are so happy to be able to give you a glimpse into our sorority and introduce you to the women that make it so special.

My name is Hannah Garris and I currently serve as Gamma Delta's Chapter President at the University of South Alabama. From the time I received my bid to now, two years later, I can't begin to tell you how much AOII has done for me! This sisterhood has shaped me into the strong woman I am today and has given me opportunities and memories in ways I could never repay. AOII has introduced me to some of the most confident, selfless, and loving women I have ever met who inspire me everyday to be a better scholar, woman, and sister. Being in a sorority has taught me what true service looks like, exceptional leadership skills, and how to love others unconditionally. AOII has given me the home, bestfriends, and family I never knew I needed; when I stop to think about my sisters, I think of a unique group of 131 girls who all have different voices and bring something special to the table. As a chapter, we strive to exceed all expectations on campus, in our community, and in each of our lives; AOII helps each of us grow and accomplish the unimaginable.

I am incredibly grateful for each of my sisters and the opportunity to know every one of them. I cannot imagine how my college experience would have been or who I would be today if I had never joined AOII and met the wonderful women that make up Gamma Delta.

“Of all the blessings we count over, it seems to me none is greater than the consciousness of belonging to a family of thousands of sisters.”- Stella George Stern Perry
